2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Plan

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on fostering students' emotional awareness and empathy, while encouraging respectful interactions among peers.

We are doing this to cultivate a culture of safety and belonging within our school, while supporting students in their development into conscientious and respectful individuals.

Key Actions or Strategies

• We will continue to integrate Social-Emotional Learning opportunities into everyday programming to support students in developing their self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship building skills.
• We will continue to implement restorative practices to address conflicts and disciplinary issues where it is appropriate to focus on repairing harm and restoring relationships.
• We will organize school-wide activities that promote inclusivity and cultural awareness, fostering a sense of belonging among all students.

Community and Home Connections

• Talk with your child about what contributes to their sense of belonging at school. Ask for their suggestions on how we could enhance their feelings of connection and inclusion.
• Try journalling at home with your child to help them understand and name their feelings.
